Impressive Timber Frame
Despite its impressive size, Architect Bob Bouril skillfully blended a classic cottage design with Northwoods décor to create an intimate, welcoming feel throughout the home. The exterior showcases full native stone veneer accented with limestone details, while custom-fabricated wrought iron railings enhance both the balconies and escape well.
The siding is a rich mix of random-bottom bevel cedar, cedar shake, cedar-paneled overhangs, heavy cedar trim, and solid timber bracket detailing—each element contributing to the home’s layered character and craftsmanship.
This project incorporated an extraordinary level of detail, requiring hundreds of uniquely specified products and materials, including several sourced internationally. Notable elements include a timber frame package forming a significant portion of the superstructure from Canada, French countertops, mesquite wood features, select floor coverings, and distinctive lighting fixtures.
